Our rules are pretty simple -- when you rent our house you have the run of the house as if it were your own home. As such, we expect that you wiill treat the camp as if it were your own home while you are in it.
That essentially means that you leave it like you found it, doing a basic cleaning as if you were going to be there another week so the family that follows you has a broom-clean house with no spills or food laying out.
Here's what we provide to you:
- Exclusive use of the house and grounds, including the dock and swimming area in Lake Winnipesaukee, for the time we agree on.
- Access from 3 p.m. on the first Saturday until 9 a.m. the next Saturday, leaving six hours between guests.
- A clean house with working water and electric (and in 2009 TV and wireless Internet access) when you arrive.
- The right to use anything in the house, including condiments or non-perishable food and drink as long as you replace stuff for the next family if it runs out.
- Our personal cell-phone so if there are problems we can get them fixed up really fast.
- A name and number of someone in town who will respond if you can't get ahold of us.
- Our aluminum Grumman canoe with paddles and the like.
- A list of great places in town to frequent, and places to take day-trips if you are interested (of course, they're on this site, too for anyone who wants them even without renting).
Here's what we ask of you:
- Bring your own linens and towels. There are blankets and pillows at the camp, but you might want more -- it can get cold on Lake Winnipesaukee, even in August.
- Treat the house as if it were your own, meaning with care and respect but also full access to anything in the house.
- A 10% deposit at the time of booking by mail, and the remainder in a check eight (8) weeks before the rental date.
- A $500 check as a deposit against damages or the need to hire a cleaning service, though we expect to mail every one of these checks back uncashed 'cause we trust you.
- No smoking in the house. There are ashtrays if you want to smoke on the porch, but please be careful.
- That you leave the house as clean for the next family as you found it, sweeping up the floors, wiping up the counters and tables, and running the dishwasher.
- Have fun, enjoy the camp, love the place as much as we do.
- Don't freak out if a neighbor comes by. They're all friendly and we look out for each other on the water.
Those are pretty much the rules we live by and let folks use our house with. If you have any questions or are interested in renting, drop me a line at nathanrudy@gmail.com. |
