This rustic five bedroom camp on Lake Winnipesaukee's exclusive and secluded South Wolfeboro Bay with all the amenities can be yours for a little as $1000 a week off season, $1500 in season, $2000 a week for major holidays.

This camp is not for people who are looking for a suburban house and lawn transported to the woods. You'll get city water, electric, full bathroom and kitchen -- but no sheetrock, no lawn, no servants.

If you're interested in a real Lake Winnipesaukee experience at a very reasonable price, write us at nathanrudy@gmail.com. Please include a phone number and any questions you have.

About Whip-Poor-Will Lodge
A Lakefront Rental on Lake Winnipesaukee

In 1905 Wolfeboro resident JW "Doc" Goodwin built a five bedroom camp on Lake Winnipesaukee's South Wolfeboro Bay for his family to spend the hot summer months. That camp has stayed in the family for more than 100 years through four generations of Goodwins, MacColls and Rudys.

Currently the house is in my hands. I'm Nathan Rudy, and I run a local Red Cross chapter in New Jersey. That means I don't get a lot of long vacations with my wife Maureen and daughter, and the camp doesn't get enough use. A house like this needs good people enjoying it to really thrive.

So we're looking for folks like us who prefer the old-style lakehouse experience to rent the place in the May-September timeframe. Friendly folks in the house will make it a better place for us to go (and will also offset our taxes and upkeep).

When Doc first built the house South Wolfeboro Bay was a pretty quiet area, with only a couple other camps and not much going on. Over the years the quiet, secluded section of the lake has become quite desireable adn exclusive. Our neighbors include CEOs of Fortune 500 companies and even Governor Mitt Romney. The fishing is great (bass and trout, mostly), the boating is excellent and the water is always clear and warm enough for swimming from June to September.

Even better, as you can tell from our pictures, we have 600 feet of lakefront providing a huge expanse of private access to the lake you will not have to share with anyone. There's a canoe, and you can rent a motorboat in town if you're interested.

Whip-Poor-Will Lodge has stayed rustic with the same look of yellow clapboard and birch trim from the day it was built. We've added electricity, city water and a septic system. The camp has amenities including a full bath and shower, compete kitchen and dishware, washer and dryer, wireless Internet and a field stone fireplace that can't be beaten.

We are opening up the camp for weekly rentals from Memorial Day Weekend through the end of September for your family or group of friends looking for a real New Hampshire lakehouse experience. No sheetrock, no cable television, no lawn -- just a beautiful century-old home down a half-mile private road with five bedrooms, 600 feet of private lakefront, a huge wraparound porch and all the amenities you need to have a wonderful vacation.
